This unit is specifically for people who meet the following criteria:

  • Have a nationally accredited RSA statement of attainment; and was
  • Issued in another state or territory other than NSW; and was
  • Issued within the last five (5) years; and
  • Must contain one of the following unit codes:
    • SITHFAB009A ; OR
    • SITHFAB201
    • SITHFAB002

Prior RSA training?

You will be required to upload evidence of your RSA certificate at the commencement of your training. Instructions will be provided on how to do this once you commence your course.

If you do not have a RSA statement of attainment you must complete the full Liquor and Gaming NSW approved RSA Competency Card Training course

*Please note a VCGLR Victorian & the QLD OLGR RSA is not acceptable as this is Victorian & Queensland State specific and NOT the national statement of attainment SITHFAB201

Any person who undertakes the RSA NSW Online course with AAAT and who successfully completes their training prior to 6pm will receive their Liquor and Gaming NSW approved Interim certificate on the same day! This service is provided 7 days a week - 365 days a year.

Course Information:


Step 1: Register and pay for your course.

Step 2: Study the RSA NSW Online course material and complete the assessments

Step 3: Once your assessment has been marked and approved by our assessors, you will receive via email your RSA NSW Interim certificate. This certificate permits you to work in licensed premises straight away.

NOTE: Interim Certificates are valid for 90 days to allow you time to obtain a Liquor and Gaming NSW RSA Photo Photo Competency card that is valid for 5 years. The cost of the NSW RSA Photo Competency card is included in our course fee. See “How do you obtain your RSA Photo Competency card?


To ensure you receive an adequate level of support with your training and assessment, please consider the following questions.

  • Do you consider yourself to have any disability, special needs, reading or writing difficulties that may have an impact on your ability to complete this Online course?
  • Do you believe you have the literacy skills to read and interpret documents such as Proof of age cards and driver’s licences, statutory or warning signs, wording within advertising or promotional material, in house policies and procedures and plain-English regulatory and advisory information issued by local, or state and territory liquor licensing authorities?
  • Do you believe that you have the numeracy skills to calculate measures of standard drinks and determine alcohol consumption?
  • There will be mini questionairre at the commencement of your training to establish your level of language, literacy and numeracy.

  • Random sampling of students is conducted to ensure the authenticity of those completing learning and assessment online. A minimum standard of language, literacy and numeracy is required to complete online learning. If the participant fraudulently declares the minimum level is met, a statement of attainment may not be issued.
  • All students are questioned at the time of enrolment where they are provided with the opportunity to declare special needs in this area. If this is not indicated, the student has declared they have the minimum language, literacy and numeracy skills to proceed with online learning.
  • In addition, all students are required to undertake a short LLN self-assessment prior to the commencement of training. Satisfactory completion of the assessment is required prior to issuance of a statement of attainment.


The time taken to finish the course will vary form person to person - typically to read the course material takes between 2-3 hours and completing the assessment should take no more than 30 minutes.

As long as we receive your assessment before 6pm EST, and its not a public holiday, one of our trainers will mark your assessment and email you advising whether you have passed the assessment that same day!


RSA NSW Online Bridging unit: You will be provided with an introduction to RSA - Responsible Service of Alcohol and legislation that surrounds RSA in NSW.

  • Two (2) modules - min 30 minutes each
  • Two (2) quizzes - approx 15 questions in each - 15 minutes each
  • One (1) final free text assessment - 30 minutes


If you answer a question incorrectly - don’t panic. You don’t have to complete the entire assessment again. You only need to re-attempt the incorrect question/s, you are required to obtain 100% before we will issue your certificate.

We suggest that you review and take time to review the learning material carefully before re-attempting your question/s. You will be required to spend a minimum of 30 minutes in each module and you will be required to attain a 100% pass before proceeding to the mext module.


  1. ID - We are required by law to verify your identity. You will be asked to provide a legible copy of a photo identification - for example a drivers licence, proof-of-age card or passport. Detailed instructions on what is required and how to submit will be sent to you in your confirmation email and is included at the commencement of your online training. Providing proof of ID is a pre-requisite to receive your certificate.
  2. Statutory Declaration - In addition you will be required to submit a statutory declaration which delcares that you are the perosn that has completed the tarining and assessments - this is a requirement of  . We have supplied the Stat Dec for you, all you need to do is simply complete the form and have it witnessed by one of the persons listed on the form (there are 50 to choose from!) - click here to download stat dec.
  3. USI - Unique Student Identifier (USI):  From 1 January 2015 all students are required by law to have a USI. All recognised training providers offering this course are required to collect this information. It is easy to do and is part of the registration process.


Important changes for RSA and RCG Competency Card

From 1 August 2015, Service NSW will manage the Proof of Identity check service for RSA and RCG competency card applications.

This new arrangement will simplify the way customers do business with the NSW Government. Service NSW is the government’s one-stop shop for transactions and has many locations around NSW.

Service NSW service centres and affiliated locations where Proof of Identity checks can be done can be searched for on its website at www.service.nsw.gov.au/service-centre

You are required to bring 100 points of identification (see back of Interim Certificate for more information) and your Interim Certificate. Your RSA Photo Competency card will be ordered and sent to you within 3 weeks As you have already paid the $70 application fee as part of the cost of your course there’s nothing more to pay!


YES! You are permitted to work immediately with your interim certificate for a period of up to ninety (90) days in which time you will be required to apply for your competency card from your nearest Service NSW centre. Please remember it can take 3 weeks to process the card, so don't leave until the last minute or you may find you are unable to work.
