Festive season trading hours

22 November 2016

Hotel’s fine a timely reminder for venues to observe festive season trading hours
The licensee of The Avondale Hotel in Burwood has been fined $1650 for selling liquor outside of Good Friday trading hours.

Liquor & Gaming NSW investigated a complaint that the Avondale Hotel, run by licensee Mr Brian Dunn, had sold liquor outside its permitted trading hours.

During an interview with Liquor & Gaming NSW inspectors, Mr Dunn admitted to opening the hotel at 12am on Easter Saturday where liquor was sold at the bar in the hotel’s gaming room up until 5am. Good Friday trading hours do not permit hotels to trade after 10pm and before 5am on Easter Saturday.
